Simple Gearbox Project
grabcad
This single-stage reduction gearbox assembly, modeled in SOLIDWORKS, was designed for a 2009 Freshman Engineering Design Project involving power window motor control of a mock elevator. The gears were precisely created with involute curve tooth profile by CNC cutting acrylic and using Design Tables with Excel calculations. Additionally, a PIC microprocessor was programmed to drive the elevator, with custom coding done in C. A YouTube video is available for further insights into this project (https://youtu.be/hDkQpQ4fbPg).
