simple flat cylindrical game pieces
thingiverse
Customization is nearing completion. By default, each element measures 30mm in diameter and stands at 2mm tall. However, these parameters can be easily adjusted as needed. Similarly, the default settings for the grid have been set to 4 rows and 5 columns, resulting in a total of 18 distinct pieces (rows x columns minus one for every even-counted row). Furthermore, the inter-piece spacing has been optimized to 0.02*diameter from its previous setting of 0.05, which will also allow these 18 pieces to be efficiently printed on my Flash Forge printer using the available 4"x6" print bed. The device will produce a hexagonal grid consisting of flat, separated game elements. The grid boasts impressive self-centering capabilities in both the X and Y axes, effectively enabling it to hold the maximum number of pieces possible while maintaining symmetry. However, this design results in an arrangement where the number of columns differs depending on whether the rows are odd or even - a scenario contrasting that of square grids. Currently, these elements possess only flat surfaces; texture will be incorporated at a later stage.
