Simple Filament Test Object
thingiverse
I use a simple test object to print with new filaments or verify my printer is working okay. This helps me verify filament settings and checks my printers when I make any changes. It's quick to print, showing several factors well. The front edge remains constant at a 45-degree slope, which demonstrates layer stepping and makes it convenient for testing the sandability of a filament. A small flat surface shows top surface printing quality. Two spikes on top display stringiness and strength. I squeeze these to see how strong the layer adhesion is. The smooth curve on the back helps show layering, even after I've done the sanding on the front. Two holes, small and large, check accuracy and bridging. The small hole shows accuracy by its roundness, easy to see any errors at this size. The large hole has some small overhang for checking.
