A custom filament wheel bearing kit designed for users with limited metal bearings, excess filament, and time constraints. Once assembled, this solution functions flawlessly, particularly suitable for 1k spools that snap onto the end cap with ease when printed at a low quality setting. Inspired by ancient engineers who built monumental structures like the pyramids, experiment with these innovative long bearings. As I lacked metal bearings in my workshop and struggled to print in-place bearings successfully, this kit became an essential solution for me. It precisely fits the size required. Key features of this kit include assembly over the original Ender 3 spool holder. The part was printed using PLA at its fastest setting. A subsequent edit revealed that I encountered issues with the end cap falling off initially. To address this, I applied a piece of tape to secure it in place. After further refinement, the design now features a slightly thicker sheath and thinner bearings for improved fitment. When locking on the end cap, if poor adhesion causes the tabs to split, simply apply superglue to repair them. Once tightened, the end cap will remain securely in place.
