I built a compact fan holder for three 30mm fans to fit my MKS Gen 1.4 Board perfectly. I added TMC2130 drivers, which require active cooling that blows cool air directly onto the aluminum components. This simple design is surprisingly effective: just snap in three 30mm fans and attach them securely to the side of the board. UPDATE: 2018-07-27 I've made some improvements to the fan holder - I added a protective cover for the fans, but please note that it hasn't been thoroughly tested yet! Let me know if you've built one yourself!
