Simple E3D mount for FolgerTech FT-5 with stock Extruder

A minimalist mount designed specifically for E3D on FT-5 printers that eliminates the need for replacing the extruder or adding additional mounts. The intention is to create a straightforward mount that can be printed with ease on most any printer model, requiring minimal setup and preparation time. A slight degree of play has been incorporated into the design; however, this does not seem to pose an issue even at higher print speeds exceeding 80mm/s. It's worth noting that some minor modification may be necessary to the stock extruder. To achieve optimal results, a small portion of the plastic at the bottom of the original extruder should be carefully filed away with a Dremel. This adjustment is made to bring the E3D feed tube as close as possible to the drive gears and minimize the likelihood of filament snagging on an edge during filament changes. This process does not compromise the integrity or functionality of the extruder. Two variations are available: Big and Eco. The primary difference lies in their design features. Big boasts a longer finger hold for effortless filament swapping, along with a deeper front piece that accommodates full 30mm M3 screws without causing bottoming out of the motor mount. This feature simplifies fastener management and makes it easier to work with the assembly. Eco, on the other hand, features a narrower front piece and is showcased in the accompanying photos. Due to limitations in motor design, only short distances can be achieved when inserting M3 screws from the front face. To overcome this challenge, two M3 nuts are employed as spacers for each 30mm screw. In some cases, 20mm screws may be too short; a suitable solution is to trim 30mm screws down to approximately 25mm in length.
