Simple Drum (with drumstick)

Simple Drum (with drumstick)

Just wanted to design a simple hand drum, but you don't need the drumstick; playing it with your hand will give a different sound. A small piece of hide is meant to be stretched over the inner ring, and then the outer ring fits snugly over it to keep the drumskin taut. Update: Added a second file with little pegs around the outer rim so the drumskin can be pulled up around these after the outer rim is put in place to further secure it and give an added aesthetic of whatever your drumskin material is on the outer rim. You could either attach a small slice in the material like the pegs are buttons, or cut strings into the excess and tie these to the pegs. ALTERNATE ENDING DRUM Update TWO: I keep tweaking this design. Found out what the dimensions of the print bed will be on the printer I'm getting (eventually, waiting for the Obsidian from Kodama and they're still working out production kinks). Wanted to actually print my drum and have it fit in the bed so I tweaked about in TinkerCAD again to make sure this would do the trick - which necessitated removing the handle and printing it as a separate piece to be glued into the hole after the fact. Also lengthened both the handle and the drumstick for more comfortable holding, and liked the effect on the drumstick head. This third version is probably the most workable so far. Not sure if the rings will fit together the way they're supposed to; wasn't sure if I should make it flush with the outer ring to really keep the skin taut (have to tap in place with a hammer, guess) or leave space for the skin between... ended up duplicating the inner ring and then "cutting" it out of the inside of the outer ring so I know it exactly fits. Whether or not I can force it to fit with a drumskin between remains to be seen. This thing was made with Tinkercad. Edit online at https://www.tinkercad.com/things/a19r5I18kgu
