Simple Drag Chain

Simple Drag Chain

This design is optimized to be as 3D printable as possible. Most existing drag chain designs found online are simply copies of commercial products. To avoid this, I've used minimal material and adhered strictly to the limitations imposed by 0.4 mm nozzles. Cables can be either clipped in or inserted from the end, but should be restricted within the chain elements. The cables essentially become an integral part of the chain, providing increased stability. One element takes approximately six minutes to print on my setup (60 mm/s, 10 mm/s first layer). To achieve successful prints, follow this order: 1. Print the version without a flap and see if it works for you. 2. If not, try printing the standard version with the flap clipped off. 3. As a last resort, add a brim and carefully clean up the area where the elements overlap. The "pins" have significant overhangs, but I've had no issues printing them. If they appear slightly unclean, it's likely not a problem. If this design works for you, feel free to use it. If not, please modify it and share your changes so others can benefit from your work. Note: The thumbnail is outdated, showing an earlier version with through holes. Watch the video below for the current design.
