Simple Door Lock
thingiverse
I have lived in my house for quite some time now, but one thing that always bothered me was the defective lock on my bathroom door. The problem with this lock has been ongoing since I can even remember and yet I had been putting off fixing it until recently. The situation changed when I received a 3D printer as a gift, giving me an idea of what to create first. That idea quickly turned into printing a simple door lock. The main casing for the lock measures 40mm x 40mm x 20mm while the small casing measures 20mm x 38.24mm x 20mm. The part that moves inside is a sliding block measuring 20mm x 18mm x 24.5mm. To ensure the strength and sturdiness of the lock, I added some curves in the design which enabled it to withstand anything from nuclear explosions to direct asteroid hits. I printed it at a high resolution with strong layers for an extra sturdy structure and high quality finish. My print came out very well without using any supports at all, printing at 50mm/s and leaving no signs of weak points on the surface. It sticks securely onto my door frame after sticking it using super glue, giving me no cause to regret its production so far. If you find yourself having issues with it, feel free to leave your comment and ask for assistance or make any suggestions that can help in resolving them.
