Simple customizable bike phone mount
thingiverse
In the Netherlands, authorities have recently implemented a strict new rule: no holding phones while biking. Determined to find a solution, I took matters into my own hands and designed a phone mount. After searching in vain for a straightforward customizable option that could print without support material, I decided to take action and write one from scratch using OpenSCAD. The mount consists of two separate components that can be printed individually with OpenSCAD. To ensure they print smoothly without support, simply rotate them as needed before printing. A .stl example is provided for a 66 x 136 x 8 mm phone (my Alcatel OneTouch Idol3) attached to a 23mm handlebar, leaving a generous 60-degree opening to easily slide the mount onto the handlebar.
