Simple Cup Pull

Simple Cup Pull

thingiverse

I'm creating my first-ever from-scratch design using TinkerCAD. A simple cup pull, similar to those used on drawers, was what I needed, but I couldn't find a download that met my needs. I actually plan to use two of these as grab handles mounted to either side of the bottom of my Plexiglass printer enclosure to make it easier to lift on and off of the platform. I'm impressed by how strong this handle is even with PLA at 15% infill. If I had used less infill, print time wouldn't have dropped much in Cura. This handle measures about 150mm long by 30mm high by 30mm deep. There's a thick handhold to assist in holding onto the bottom edge. I printed it hole-side down for better threads without supports, and the handhold sags a bit but still works fine for my needs. You may want to use supports or flip the model so that the handhold is on the printbed if you prefer a better handhold. The mounting holes are designed for 4mm x 8mm metric screws. I don't have any 4mm screws to test with, so I'm not sure how well they work yet. The mounting bosses are actually about 8mm in diameter by 11mm deep to allow some leeway in case the holes need to be enlarged slightly. If people would like to use this design but need to change up the holes, I'll see about making the CAD file available.
