In our warehouse, I discovered a runner and customized it for Mitch Pomeratnz's wire shelving. The current design features a wire shelf unit that needs a couple of vibration dampers between shelves. To optimize the design, I will explore incorporating a lightweight modular chain drive. You can link 2-3 shelves across the width and as many along the rails, while leaving gaps for accessibility. Each shelve has a braking mechanism, but a simpler alternative is under consideration. The non-adjustable support pin requires welding to the runner; this component is an extruded aluminum profile readily available at local hardware stores in various shapes and sizes.
