Simple commander/EDH display deckbox
thingiverse
This is the ultimate commander deckbox I've been dreaming about for years! Since it didn't exist, I took matters into my own hands when I got a 3D printer. I've always stored my commander in a toploader, so it made perfect sense to me to use that as the "lid" of the box, doubling as a display case! These deckboxes aren't designed to withstand rough handling - they may dump your cards if you toss them around or leave them loose in a backpack! I simply wanted a decent assurance of keeping everything in one place while making it look great on the shelf. Don't blame me for lost or damaged cards, just be careful and use some common sense! I'm still tweaking the design, trying to account for the variation in size of standard toploaders, reinforce the structural weakness of the groove, and keep material usage and print time to a minimum. Any feedback or input on how to achieve these goals would be super helpful! Two versions are uploaded: - The latest all-in-one version prints on its back and requires supports for the toploader slot. - An older 2-piece version that prints upright without supports, then the top cap is glued in place. This version is easier to print, but lacks some of the improvements of the newer version - it uses more material and the slot isn't as deep.
