Simple Clutch Assembly Model
thingiverse
Hello - I created a model of a motorcycle clutch to help new riders understand the concept and how it delivers and removes power from the engine to the rear wheel. The idea was to simplify this complex system for demonstration purposes. I purchased 4" circular sandpaper to represent friction plates and a hobby pack containing battery packs, electric motors, and on/off switches from Amazon. Using super glue, I assembled everything together. The spring used in my model is not my design; I sourced it from Layerone's design on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:687668 This concept works as intended, but the small electric motor I bought isn't strong enough to spin against the spring's push, so revisions are needed. I'll either have to buy a stronger motor or use a smaller spring and friction plates. If anyone has suggestions, please share them.
