Simple clip for face mask (Corona virus Covid-19 protection)
thingiverse
This is not a remake. I liked the simplicity of the original clip design, but it didn't work for me. So I created an entirely new design. This model is easy to print and prints quickly - just 30 minutes for two clips. # How to Print This model is designed to be printed with a layer height of 0.3mm. It has 100% infill and doesn't require any supports. The print time is approximately 30 minutes. I highly recommend using PETG if you want to replace the cloth or paper in your mask, as PLA can break easily. Don't print it from PLA. # What You'll Need To make this mask, you will need to print two clips and then add some cotton cloth or a paper towel. You'll also need two rubber bands. The size of the cloth or paper will depend on the size of your face. My cloth is approximately 25x22cm. Simply fold the paper towel or cloth over both sides and insert the ends into the clips, as shown in the pictures. It's better to have a mask, eye protection, and a suit, but we're normal people and we don't have that stuff. So this mask works for me, even if it doesn't offer 100% protection (it's somewhere around 60%). That's still way better than nothing. If two people meet wearing masks on their faces, there is a huge reduction in risk - really huge. So wear masks and stay safe. **Material Edit** I found that a great material (and very cheap) is non-woven fabric with waterproof foil, used as a disposable bed sheet in hospitals. You can buy a roll of 50cm x 50m for about $5. **Files Edit** I added a 1mm taller version of the clip and made both clips stronger "hinge" areas because some users reported that it sometimes broke.
