Simple Case for Raspberry Pi HQ Camera
prusaprinters
This is a very simple case for the Raspberry Pi HQ Camera. It's useful for covering the bare PCB of the camera when you want to use it on a tripod (via its own mount) without being attached to the Pi or anything else.It is designed to be quick and easy to print, and includes a curved opening for the ribbon cable.Model versionsMainThe main model requires some hardware in order to be fastened securely to the camera's PCB:4 x M2.5 screws (at least 10mm long)4 x M2.5 hex nutsI've made the screw holes just tight enough that the screws should be somewhat self-tapping, so you can forgo the hex nuts if you desire, though your mileage may vary depending on print settings and so on.Alternate (screw-less)I've also included a screw-less version which has little snap tabs on the sides to grip the PCB instead. In my testing this seems to work OK but is not especially strong and could probably use some refinement.RecommendationsThis is a fairly simple model so it should print well in a number of filament types but good ol' PLA or PETG should be just fine. The provided gcode uses a custom filament profile I made for eSun's PLA+ series.Fairly typical print settings should work fine. I used 2 perimeters, 4 solid layers for top and bottom, and a 20% gyroid infill. I got improved results (specifically, a reduction in unnecessary gap fill) using the Arachne slicing algorithm in PrusaSlicer 2.5 alpha (which is a feature adopted from Cura), but this is not necessary.
