Human: Simple Case 2 for Pygamer (Audio Volume+)\r\n\r\nThis project was designed based on "Simple Case for Pygamer" (Thing:3654450).\r\nA variable resistor adds the ability to adjust speaker volume.\r\nHowever, a dummy plug must be inserted into the earphone jack.\r\nTherefore, earphones cannot be used.\r\n\r\nThis project requires modifications to the Pygamer board.\r\nThis modification is experimental.\r\nI am not responsible for any damage to Pygamer due to this modification or the work process of the modification.\r\nPlease work on your own responsibility taking into consideration the appropriateness of this modification and the selection of parts.\r\n\r\n-Requirement\r\nPiece of Universal Board\r\n...It requires a 20x14mm (t=1.6mm) size universal board, as shown in the picture.\r\nDial-Type Variable Resistance\r\n...As shown in the picture, the diameter of the dial is 16 mm, and 50k - 100kΩ will be suitable.\r\nDouble-Sided Adhesive Tape\r\n...Adhesive tape can be a good help when fitting the universal board into the case.\r\n\r\n-CAD File\r\npgm158spk45_.stp (.123dx)\r\n\r\n-STL Files\r\npgm158spk045b.stl\r\npgm158spk045c.stl\r\ndummyplug01.stl\r\n\r\n\r\n-About Volume Control\r\nPygamer has a jack for earphones.\r\nUsually, the speaker is the audio output destination via an audio amplifier.\r\nWhen the earphone plug is inserted into the jack, the amplifier (and speaker) are disconnected from the audio signal, and the earphone becomes an audio output destination.\r\nIf a dummy plug is inserted instead of the earphone plug, the audio signal is not connected anywhere.\r\nIn that state, if the audio signal is connected to the amplifier through a variable resistor, volume can be controlled.\r\nThe schematic shown in the picture and the example of wiring realize this for above.\r\nThe circuit diagram was referenced from Pygamer's document, "Primary Guide: Introducing Adafruit PyGamer"\r\n(Schematic... https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-pygamer/downloads )\r\n\r\n-A Note About This Mod\r\nAs shown in the photo, please set the thickness of the unit placed by arranging variable resistance on the universal board about 5.2 mm or less.\r\nThe wires around the earphone jack require soldering with a very narrow gap.\r\nBe careful not to damage parts around it.
