Simple Bookend
thingiverse
Printing a simple bookend - watching it come to life as I type (ABS). I prefer to print objects at z-heights of around minus 0.07 to avoid having to create a raft altogether, and so far this approach has been quite effective. Helper discs placed strategically on the corners of this particular piece serve to prevent warping due to its thin flat profile that makes it prone to such issues. Experimenting with lower settings, namely height (0.3mm), speed (80mm/s), and infill percentage (10%), using three shells as the fill structure. Update: Now printed out, it seems to be working just fine - see attached images. Post-printing, I took care of sanding down any sharp edges... Considering a potential mod would involve filleting off those corners, perhaps an interesting design modification is on the horizon.
