A simple "spine saver" for paperback books. Those books often have a weakened area where the pages fold, but since the spine of the book is merely a thin strip of glue and a few millimeters of page that hopefully aren't bent wrong, most of the time the spine tears apart completely. This protector ensures the pages fold at the crease, safeguarding the spine. The drawback is it might make it more challenging to fully open the book. Perhaps the design needs some refinement.
