I printed someone else's 5mm shelf peg model yesterday and discovered a discrepancy - it was actually 6mm off. I decided to create my own design, so I made an account on TinkerCAD.com, deleted their tutorial models, and dragged the cylinder object from the basic shapes palette into place. I set the dimensions to 5x5x16 and downloaded the model. After printing it in less than five minutes, I tested it and was pleased with the result. I printed seven more companions for the lonely peg, giving my wife a matching set of 3DSolutech Real Orange shelf pegs. The color is great - it's reminiscent of Rust-Oleum safety orange. I didn't calculate the strength of them, but at 50% or more infill, these should be sturdy enough to hold up 2 foot long shelves full of tween novels and manga for my wife's 6th grade reading class. However, if you need to mount 4 foot oak shelves to hold up your law library, 5mm plastic pegs are not the solution. As small as they are, the 50% infill I used was essentially 90% infill due to the .4mm print head's limited space for air pockets in the center.
