thingiverse
Simple Bowden Extruder for use with clone Bondtech gears on Creality machines or any 3D printer with a bowden drive system and sandwich mounting plate between the extruder and stepper motor. Designed to work seamlessly with the BondTech gears and clones. Bill of Materials: 1x BondTech extruder gear set (Triangle Labs clone works flawlessly) 1x 7.5-9mm x 20mm x 1.2mm extruder/bed spring 1x PC4-M6 Pneumatic Air Straight Quick Fitting (Bowden Coupler) 4x M3 x 35 screws 4x M3 Flat washer 4x M3 Split washer Assembly: 1. Use a 3mm drill bit to clean out holes for the mounting screws and idler gear pin, then use a 2mm drill bit to clear filament path. 2. Mount main body to stepper motor with three M3 x 35mm screws, followed by a lock washer and flat washer; ensure flat washer touches plastic of main body, then thread in PC4-M6 fitting on the same side as OZO watermark. 3. Slide one gear onto stepper motor shaft, centering teeth groove on opening of filament path; secure with setscrew. 4. Insert needle bearings into second gear and position it in tensioning arm, sliding pin into place for a tight fit that self-locks; this part is optional but using guide tube for filament is highly recommended. 5. Place spring into deep cavity of main body. 6. Slide tensioning arm into place and insert final screw; you may need to apply pressure to align holes and secure the screw. 7. Update e-steps; 139 has been found to be the most accurate setting for Fysetc BMG Clone gears, so be sure to save changes to eprom if adjusting via control screen.
