This device is actually pretty basic in concept and involves nothing more than a simple spring that holds your timing belt in place with enough tension so it runs true, but not so tight that it becomes too stiff. To do this we make use of a single steel bar held on each end by means of two heavy-duty nuts tightened with our adjustable spanner which then gets hooked under one of the spring's loops holding onto one side while another does exactly the same thing to its other side effectively squeezing your timing belt between the ends of both the springs providing adequate support throughout.
