Simple Barn Owl (Totemic)

A simple barn owl crafted from basic shapes in a totem style stands at 42mm x 45mm x 59mm, with most of that size comprising its wings, allowing it to be scaled up but not down easily. The pose was designed to resemble hunting and to enable the owl to stand independently on its own feet. To facilitate printing, supports were added using generated models and a 6mm brim in Prusa 3D Slic3r, which produced excellent results. Careful removal of supports from the wings, which are slightly fragile but not as delicate as they appear, was required. The design lends itself well to being adapted into a pendant or hanging decoration, making it easy for users to copy and modify using Tinkercad. Owls are an intriguing subject, with the challenge of accurately depicting their likeness versus personal imagination adding interest to the design process. A slightly larger, refined version of the owl is also available for those experiencing difficulties with the original file.
