Simple Adjustable 50W CO2 Laser Cutter Mount
thingiverse
Went to fine-tune my 50W laser cutter since it's been a while. After about an hour of adjusting without getting precisely where the beam needs to be, decided to make a simple adjustable laser tube holder. My 50W laser cutter is similar to one of many generic 300 x 500 cutters on eBay. The first photo shows the original tube holder which was nothing more than an aluminum block with high-density foam clamped down with tin strips. Adjusting the tube required compressing or shifting the foam, not an ideal situation at all. As it turns out, the tube in my machine is 50mm in diameter. I designed my tube collar to accommodate some padding material between the tube and collar itself. Additional hardware used: - 6-32 x 1-1/2" Flat head Machine Screws (2) - 6-32 Nuts (6) Used 8-32 Nuts and Bolts to secure holder frame at existing hole locations. My machine's hole locations were 16mm and 66mm off the backwall panel. Others may have similar configurations as these cabinets and chassis all look the same for the 300 x 500 mm bed laser cabinets. Resizing the collar can accommodate larger tubes if necessary.
