Simple 3D Hexagon landscape

I wanted to create some basic hexagonal items and developed a small function set to convert Cartesian coordinates into hexagonal ones. This program displays a simple landscape that I generated using cosine and sine interference patterns to test the conversion. I'm not sure if this makes sense or is even useful, but if so, please show me what you've done with it!
