Simple 3018 air assist for laser module
thingiverse
This is a very simple, but adjustable, air assist for a laser module (mounted on 3018 cnc), that uses soft flexible (silicon) tubing like that found in aquariums for aeration. You just find a way to couple the tubing to an air compressor. I find that it doesn't even take that much air pressure to make a big difference, probably because this gets the air right down at the spot where the laser is engraving. It is originally designed to use a 3mm bolt to clamp it onto the laser, but mine came out a little on the tight side, so I'm using a twist tie since it does not line up perfect. It could probably be scaled up a percent or two to fit perfect, but my printer prints just a tad small, so it may fit perfect for you. The second, adjustable aim part, is connected with a couple 2mm screws. Once installed, you can pull the silicon tubing, and aim as necessary to get within millimeters of the laser contact area.
