Simple 3 Way Servo Valve
thingiverse
A basic three-way valve can be greatly improved by equipping it with a reliable servo! Utilize this component as part of an elaborate aquarium air system, integrate it into an automatic watering scheme, or switch intake and outlet for a syringe pump like this device ( Thing: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:866904). Thanks to Nordson Medical for providing the samples necessary to develop this idea! Although the design is still in progress due to some discrepancies in the raw valve and cover spacing, it can be modified to fit. Instructions First, print one of each part and test fit them. If necessary, trim or file the parts to achieve a proper fit. I had to shave off a bit from the corners of my servo's mounting bracket and fine-tune the little valve to make it fit smoothly when placing the cover on top. Hardware: A single three-way valve will be needed. I utilized Nordson Medical FCLBFFM-1A-003; however, since they sent me a sample but were unable to provide any source where I could order fewer than 100 of them, a different equivalent model can also be used. In addition to the main components listed below: Screw requirements for each component must also be purchased: Assembly: Screw the holes in the Valve Body Case with M3 tap screw into the cover hole for the valve handle body, then mount the servo into the Servo Body for proper alignment. Tighten the servo securely so that the center (at a ninety-degree angle) matches. Place the Valve Drive onto the Servo Horn while it is still aligned and centered and insert it into the other end with an air-tight connection. Positioning screws will also be required to fit inside both cases so secure the Valve Body Case together.
