Simple 3 drive HDD cage
thingiverse
I was in dire need of a straightforward HDD cage. The only way to make room for my water cooler was to relocate the HDD from its normal drive sleds in my H440 case. As I gazed down at the floor, I spotted mounts designed specifically for a single drive, but I needed three. This is where my DIY project came into play. The cage works by leveraging a single flat mount and stacking the drives on top of each other, allowing for seamless airflow through strategically placed openings on either side. Since this won't be visible inside my machine, I didn't put too much emphasis on aesthetics. Incidentally, three drives can fit snugly in the basement of an NZXT H440 case. A fanless print is ideal in this case. I utilized Free CAD software and consulted a Hard Drive spec sheet online to bring my design to life.
