Simple 2 Stage Gearbox Project
grabcad
In 2009, a two-stage gearbox emerged from a machine design project, developed by a partner and me. This particular reduction gearbox features non-involute teeth, necessitating approximations. Detailed stress calculations were conducted to determine shaft sizing, gears, bearings, and keyways based on standard conventions. Manual reaction and moment calculations led to the utilization of Mathcad for factor-of-safety assessment. However, the housing design may be considered excessive, as we never intended to manufacture this gearbox. To access the CAD files, download the provided ZIP file.
