Simonarri's "Bender articulated" head part - individual objects
thingiverse
Don't you think your Bender needs genuine 3D printed white eyes? Mine does, it's begging me to split the original head section into separate objects. I've carefully created holes and new geometry at a polygon level, completely redesigning the landscape without relying on any dirty boolean operations. There are three files available: 1-base 2-eyeballs ready for single extruder printing 3-eyeballs prepared for dual extruder printing (perfectly fits with base) If you plan to print it using a single extruder and your printer isn't 100% calibrated, the eyeballs won't fit into the holes of the base due to lack of tolerance space between them, but they share identical faces. However, since the surface of contact is almost a perfect cylinder, you can scale down the entire part slightly while maintaining the right proportions. A reduction of around 1-2% (scale factor in Cura: 0.98 - 0.99) should work. Update: I've already printed it with success. Eyeballs printed at 98% size perfectly fit the base, and rotating the base while adding support for the inner sides of the cap yielded much better results.
