Simon's hex coupler
thingiverse
For enhanced functionality, Eric's excellent coupler design has been modified into a hexagonal shape allowing for the use of an adjustable spanner. It can handle high torque and features three grub screws at the top. The sideways printing process is support-free and produces great results. Printing parameters include 3 perimeters, 3 layers, a 0.35 nozzle, 0.25mm layer height, and 25% infill with a 90-degree fill angle. Ensure the motor end is cleaned with a 5mm drill, while the threaded rod end should fit comfortably as it comes off the printer. Secure an M8 nut within the hex coupler's open end and fasten another M8 nut with a washer from below, tightening it carefully.
