Simon Memory Game
thingiverse
This remake of "Game Genius Simon says game" by CircuitoMaker includes a display that shows how many buttons have been pressed in the correct sequence. This feature gives players valuable feedback, helping them see if their memory is improving. Hardware I designed a custom PC board to hold a 2-digit display, MAX7219 Matrix driver IC, an Arduino Mini Pro, a buzzer and some headers for wiring switches & LEDs. The MAX7219, Arduino and passive SMD components are mounted on the back of the board while the Display and Buzzer are attached to the front. I created my board using the toner method. I drilled holes in the case for a 2-Digit Common Cathode 0.56" display and a DC power socket. The Power socket is connected so that when a DC supply is inserted, the 9V battery is disconnected. To make everything fit, I designed a new bottom with ribs to secure it in place using only one screw. I also extended the block where the screw is inserted. The original base design's blocks are weak and easily breakable. Software For sound effects, I used software written for the Arduino Piano. It contains more features than needed but allows users to change notes and tunes. (Sketch included)
