Simhub Dashboard

Simhub Dashboard

thingiverse

Hi fellow simracers, I created this dashboard that allows you to view data from racing games physically. The top row of LEDs displays RPM, the 7-digit display shows gears, and the screen displays any information you want. The left column of LEDs provides additional data such as DRS enabled or Yellow flag status, or time win/loss. Two versions are available: - Back face Square is designed solely to pass the USB cable - Back face Round allows the USB cable to be neatly arranged with a cable cap, like in the photo This results in either Front face + Back Face square or Front face + Back face round + 2x Cable cap. The carbon finish is made from vinyl (3M brand). It's easy to apply using a hairdryer; just don't heat it too much. On the back, you can add two M6 screws. The screw head goes inside, and the nut faces against the back of the case, possibly with a washer. The distance between the screws is 40mm. I used long screws as stands but you can also design an intermediate part that suits your rig. Four holes on the front are designed for M3 conical heads screws (with nuts on the back face). My fit was tight enough so I didn't need them; therefore, I covered them with vinyl. The PC software used to collect data is Simhub, which generates the Arduino code. You'll need: - 1x arduino Nano - 1x USB Cable - 1x 7 digits display (20x28) - 1x 74HC595 - 7x 180ohm resistors (to limit current in the 7 digits display) - 1x LCD I2C 20x4 - 1x 8 LED bar WS2812 - 1x 5 LED bar WS2812 - 5x push buttons It cost me roughly 50€, but it can be halved by ordering in China (I was eager to have my hardware during my COVID lockdown).
