Sim shifter (no srews) simple design
cults3d
Hi, i made a shifter for my makeshift "simrig" :D The shifter is almost fully printed. Screwholes on the underside, to screw it to something :) You will need: Spring 17mm x 60mm x 14mm (mine came from an 1:10 RC car) 10mm (steel) rod (250mm long) 6 microswitches https://de.aliexpress.com/item/33005955836.html -USb Joystick https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B06XD1WF8G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Now the printing process. You can print the parts in the orientation you want. The "Basis" is intended to print standing on the 50° bevel. I did this, so i dont need supports inside the part. Just support underneath. I have 2 types of "Kugelfixierung". "Kugelfixierung_bk" uses a 12.7mm steelball which is glued in place. "Kugelfixierung" has also a ball at the end, but its already attached :P I printed this at a 45° angle, so i dont have the layers lining up with the "schaltschale". Thus no need for sanding. Assembling: Take the "schaltschale" and glue the switches in the slots with the lever facing outward. Make sure you get a click when putting the ball in place, before you glue it. Might also need a bit of sanding where the switches go. Attach the cables of the USB Joystick to the switches. Feed the cables trough the holes on the sides of the "Basis". You will need to bend the pins on the switches a little bit to make it fit. Once the "schaltschale" is in, you can glue the USB Joystick to the back of the "basis",there is a small flat surface intended for it. Take your rod and feed it trough the hole at the top of the "basis". Then you can put the parts on the rod by following order: "gelenk" "spanning" Spring "kugelfixierung"/"kugelfixerung_bk" (5. Steelball, if you want to use the steelball, you should glue it in place before you put it togehter) Now you can put the "knauf" on top of the rod. Or design you own "knauf" and use it instead :) There is also a neutral version of the "knauf". That should complete the build, without one screw. Its even possible without glue, exept for the switches, if you use the "kugelfixierung". I added a drop of lube in the "schaltschale" and between "gelenk" and "basis" to make it running smoother, especially when using the "kugelfixierung" because PLA likes to melt when its rubbing. Please let me know if this instruction is clear enough :)
