Sim Racing Wheel XBox One X
thingiverse
I was struggling to play Forza Horizon 4 on my Xbox One X with a controller because I found that the thumbstick corresponding to steering had an annoying 20 degrees of empty movement at its middle point. I suspected Microsoft made this in the code for keeping the car straight when the inside spring mechanism of the controller gets loose, making it hard to keep the car or whatever you do with this thumbstick. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands, for fun and for the challenge. I designed the whole base and steering over 24 working hours on Fusion 360. I printed it on Anycubic 4Max for a total of 65 hours and one spool of PLA. Assembling took only a few hours, but coding the Arduino Uno was the toughest part - about 10 minutes adjusting to the game and controller. The end result is amazing, as you can see from the video. Please consider subscribing to my channel; it will help me out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOtsi0W8K1M Parts list: 1x power supply HS1220 (UK plug) 1x Arduino UNO board 1x 10K potentiometer with long shaft 50mm (cut in middle and add a small screw to connect with the 4.2 Cover Bearing star) 1x micro servo FS90MG 4x F623ZZ flange ball bearings 3x V slot Delrin with bearings - bearing wheels 24*10 mm 4x male-male jump wires 4x 4mm*1mm neodymium magnets 20x 10mm*1mm neodymium magnets (top magnets to be attracting each other for the center position and all others repelling) The .ino file is attached; it's best I could do for a realistic feeling, modify to your likings. Files that need some modification: 3.2 Arduino base needs to be trimmed from the top for 2mm but the Arduino posts not to be trimmed. The Arduino legs for power and USB underneath will probably need to be trimmed too. 4.2 Cover Bearing star needs to be pulled up for about 70% but diameter to be the same
