Silverado/Suburban/Tahoe Club Mount
thingiverse
Despite my Suburban being a 1999 model with 288,XXX miles on it, people attempted to steal it twice. Apparently, its parts are worth a lot even though the vehicle itself is not. To prevent this theft, I added an alarm and now use the brake to steering wheel club. This setup is incredibly inconvenient, especially when it's not attached to the truck. It bounces around, jingles in an annoying tone, and constantly slides away from every nook or cranny where I try to hide it. That's when I came up with this idea: why not create some brackets for it? I added small notches so that rubber bands can be hooked onto the top to keep it from bouncing out. For me, it's a snap in place, but I added them just in case I get a different one or something. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 60% Notes: I did supports because I wanted the mounting holes to be perfect, even though it doesn't really matter. In reality, you can build this without supports. I posted the files for both together and individual in case someone only wants the rear or front. By the way, I named them "mount 1" and "mount 2" instead of front and rear, but the rear is shorter because the front needed to be spaced further away from the door than the rear did. You know your printer better than I do, but here are my settings: Bed: 75 Celsius Hotend: 235 Celsius Material: ABS (for strength) Built in 123d Design. If someone wants the 123d files, I'd be happy to give them to you - just can't upload them here because of file format restrictions.
