This cartoonish Silver Surfer rig is made entirely within Maya 2015 software. The rig has been custom-designed, giving users the ability to animate every possible squash and stretch of this animated character. Images used as textures are in PNG format, providing a versatile file type that is easy to use across different programs. Key Features: An IK-FK spine that gives users complete control over how the character's torso can squash or stretch Flexible arms and legs using both inverse and forward kinematics A fully-intuitive system of controls for every finger, along with independent controllers for each digit The surf board is completely rigged to this setup, allowing the user to animate its movements and behaviors. This allows it to move independently within a scene while also interacting freely with other elements in a project. This model comes complete with a comprehensive range of UV unwrapping, detailed textures that can be adjusted and fine-tuned as desired. Edited materials included make full customization of the look easy to achieve. Detailed facial controls include sliders located directly on the character's face. One benefit of this rig is its versatility in terms of scaling up or down to match any particular requirement or demand. Important Notes: A normal map has been created to provide an added layer of realism to certain textures. Rendering the model using Mental Ray will be necessary for this level of detail to shine through effectively. For efficiency, a proxy rig is available that will allow animations to move much faster in the timeline. Accessing it requires just selecting settings_CTRL. Surf board functionality offers a degree of control: by toggling its visibility or choosing how it interacts with the rest of the setup by manipulating the âfollowâ attribute on its controller, users can decide exactly what kind of movement or placement this animated element has within their scene.
