Russia, Republic of Bashkortostan, Kugarchinsky district. Excavations uncover a remarkable site from 2005 in the Necropolis of Kanakas-2 at Barrow №4, where Burial №1 reveals a compelling discovery. A woman's skeleton boasts an artificially deformed skull (Skull_16: https://skfb.ly/6IpQL), suggesting cultural or possibly even ritual significance. Dating back to the Iron Age, her chronology places her in the III-IV centuries of the new era, firmly embedding her within the Late Sarmatian culture. Some scholars might argue that she is either a Hun or a late representative of this prominent culture.
