Silly Circuit Playground Express Turkey
thingiverse
I wanted to bring some festive flair to my Thanksgiving decorations by incorporating the Adafruit Circuit Playground Express in a creative way. So, I combined two ideas and came up with something unique. I programmed the controller using CircuitPython to glow red and produce turkey "Purring" sounds at random intervals. When tapped or shaken, it would switch to a loud "Gobble" sound and flash four times. However, the built-in speaker's volume wasn't quite satisfactory. To troubleshoot the program's frequent crashes, I had to carefully cut open the USB port. I'm using the Adafruit Circuit Playground Express microcontroller from adafruit.com and a rechargeable battery from Amazon.ca for this project. The details are available at these links: https://www.adafruit.com/product/3333 and http://a.co/d/fbHh31f This decorative item is designed in four separate parts, which are then glued together to create the desired shape. The Rock base holds the rechargeable battery securely in place. Unfortunately, I encountered some challenges during programming due to issues with the Adafruit Python Library, Mu Editor, and slow technical support from their forum. In my video tutorial, I had to carefully cut open the 3D print to access the USB port and troubleshoot a mysterious memory allocation error that was causing problems.
