Silicone Sock Mold for MP Select Mini & V5 style heatblocks.
thingiverse
Made your own silicone socks for the MP Select Mini V2 hotend like the E3D ones but to precise measurements. This design is specifically tailored for the MPSM V2 stock hotend and will not fit any other hotends or clones, including the E3D ones. The mold dimensions are 16mm x 16mm x 12mm. To create these silicone socks, you only need to print the Mold file, which provides a clear preview of the finished part. Printing with PETG material is highly recommended as it will prevent the silicone from sticking to the mold. Important note: Always use soap inside the mold when casting silicone. Dish soap is essential for ensuring the silicone releases smoothly from the mold without residue. Failure to use soap may result in a stuck or damaged part. Updates: * V5: The design has been revised with one closed side that was previously unnecessary, and the sock's shape has been tightened for better retention. * V4: This version was skipped due to minor changes, so proceed directly to V5. * V3: The sock's design has been refined for improved functionality. * V2: The walls of the sock have been increased from 2mm to 3mm for added stability. * V1.1: Tolerances and proper assembly were achieved by adding 0.1mm gaps. To create these silicone socks, use Permatex 81878-12PK Ultra Copper Maximum Temperature RTV Silicone Gasket Maker, which can withstand temperatures up to 375°c. Apply a thin layer of dish soap inside the mold before pouring in the silicone and allow it to cure for at least 24 hours.
