Description: This mold kit allows you to create Silicone Sock Insulators for the E3d old style Volcano heater block or clone with a wall thickness of 2mm. The OpenSCAD source code is included, making it fully customizable according to your preferences. Material: To make these insulators, you'll need high-temperature RTV silicone, which can be obtained from Permatex 81878 Ultra Copper RTV Silicone Gasket Maker available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002UEOPA/. Alternatively, you can purchase the same product in Japan from Monotaro High Temperature RTV Silicone Gasket Maker at: https://www.monotaro.com/p/5810/8267/. Making Steps: 1. Print the parts. 2. Apply a lacquer-paint to the mold surface to extend its lifespan. 3. Coat every mold surface with soap water or oil wax and let it dry completely. 4. Fill the lower mold with silicone. 5. Place the core mold on top of the lower mold. 6. Ensure that the silicone is raised from the parting line. 7. Fill the upper mold with silicone. 8. Combine the molds and press them firmly together. 9. Secure the molds using a clamp or rubber bands. 10. Allow the mixture to sit for one or more days. 11. Remove the silicone plugs in the air vent. 12. Open the mold, retrieve your insulators, and trim any excess material. 13. If necessary, return to step 3 and repeat the process.
