Silicone Sock for Mk8 Hotends
thingiverse
This is a mold for creating silicone sock insulators specifically designed to fit the generic Mk8 heater blocks.\r\n\r\nTo get started, you'll need high-temperature silicone that can withstand extreme heat, either in two-part mixture form or an RTV single part will work perfectly. I personally used this type of silicone and had great results.\r\n\r\nYou'll also need a few other supplies to complete the project: latex gloves for protection, a disposable bowl or dish to mix the silicone, some dish soap for easy clean-up, two M3 12mm screws for securing the mold, and an optional but highly recommended 1½" ratcheting C-clamp for added leverage.\r\n\r\nFor detailed instructions on how to use this mold, check out [this post](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2848281#tips).\r\n\r\nIf you're interested in creating silicone sock insulators for other hotends, be sure to check out my other projects:\r\n\r\n - [Generic OEM E3D Hotend](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2848281)\r\n - [CR-10 Stock Hotend](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2848472)\r\n - [Generic Mk10 Hotend](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2848485)
