Silicone Heater Block Mold for Wanhao D9 Series Printers

Silicone Heater Block Mold for Wanhao D9 Series Printers

This is a design concept for a mold that produces a silicone sock for heat blocks on Wanhao D9 series printers. Although the project is not yet complete, a member of the Wanhao community recently inquired about this idea, prompting me to release it now and update as I progress or allow others to build upon it. The goal here is to attach the block (a scale model of the heat block) to the exterior mold using a screw. Next, coat the interior cavity between the block and the mold, as well as the top surface of the block, with petroleum jelly or a similar substance. Carefully pour high-temperature silicone into the cavity until it reaches the top of the outside mold. Once the silicone has set, you should be able to remove the part provided that the petroleum jelly successfully prevents permanent adhesion to the plastic.
