The stepper extruder is designed for use with silicone cartridges. Key printed components include the back plate, front plate, large pulley, pusher sled, and pusher clamp. In progress is hardware development specifically for compatibility with an Ultimaker. Hopefully, 350ml empty silicone cartridges will be available for alternative print media. The bowden holding parts and nozzle design are yet to be finalized, with a focus on ease of exchange or even single use due to the difficulty in cleaning up silicone messes. Required vitamins include two 16mm linear rails with linear bearings, a treaded rod with nut, two 6mm x 19mm x 6mm ball bearings, a NEMA17 stepper motor, and various 4mm threaded rods and bolts. The project also requires XML belts and pulleys.
