Silicon
thingiverse
This custom-made silicone piece (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:114247) was designed using the Customizer app (http://www.thingiverse.com/apps/customizer/run?thing_id=114247). It was printed in clear PLA on a Replicator with Makerware standard settings, at 205 degrees Celsius extruder temperature and an unheated build platform. The symbol and electrons were colored green using a Sharpie pen. The gyroscope mechanism works flawlessly, thanks to the great design. To recreate this item, adjust the following options: ring_height (6), Build_Plate_Manual_Width (100), element (Si), mesh_resolution (70), pin_cap_width (4), ring_spacing (2.5), pin_hole_radius (3), pin_cap_gap (.45), pin_radius (2.45), font (write/orbitron.dxf), ring_height_step (.5), font_depth (2.5), Build_Plate_Manual_Length (100), center_radius (12), and ring_width (5). The build plate type is 1.
