Did you ever wrestle with soggy filament? It's tough to print materials like PETG, CPE, or Nylons, and even tougher to store them in a dry environment. The simplest solution is to buy a bag of color-changing silica gel, print a few containers, and slide it inside a spool. Let the magic happen! Even better is to vacuum seal your spool in a bag, and I guarantee you'll never have to deal with a wet spool again. I created a simple container with vents small enough to prevent little balls of silica gel from falling out. There are also plenty of holes to suck humidity out of your filament. Since every spool has a different inside diameter and not every printer is accurate, I designed curved thin walls that act as a spring. It doesn't matter if you print it in PLA or PETG; both materials work flawlessly. I made it for dual extruder printers, but you can print it without the text, and the result is still amazing. When your silica gel changes color from its original to darker hue, simply take off the lid, dry it in an oven, food dehydrator, or on a print bed, and you're good to go! Give it a try and see if it meets your needs. Happy printing!
