Silica gel container
thingiverse
This is a substantial container designed for silica gel (desiccant) that can hold 1 kg of granules with diameters larger than 1.9 mm. Based on Malolo's Silica Gel containers series, but modeled from scratch with internal wall supports, this design stands alone as an original creation. For reference, Malolo's version is available at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3494496. At 90% scale, the container weighs slightly less than 1 kg, making it suitable for printing on a Prusa i3 MK2 (even with limited Z-axis space). The four holes in the upper section of the lid allow for attaching ropes to suspend the container from a hook or ceiling safely. Simply use two short ropes with a diameter of about 1 mm and tie knots at their ends to secure it in place. Printing without supports is possible, and PETG material works well; PLA may also be used (please share your experience if you've tried it). My printing time was approximately 32 hours with a layer height of 0.2 and 20% cubic infill. However, reducing the layer height to 0.3 should result in a print time of about 20 hours. You can further decrease printing time by lowering the infill to 15%. I printed at a speed of 50 mm/s. I've successfully used this design as a weapons safe moisture control device, and it functions effectively. As always, I'm providing the SolidWorks source CAD files in .rar format.
