Silica bead container 75x100mm
thingiverse
I purchased a 1kg bag of 3mm silica beads to keep my filaments dry, taking proactive steps to prevent moisture from compromising their quality. Later on, I recognized the benefit of breaking down these beads into smaller units, which would make them easier to handle and store. When designing the container's lid, I deliberately avoided using a 3D printed snap fastener, as it could potentially fail if dropped, causing the beads to scatter everywhere. Instead, I opted for a secure lid that could be fastened with four countersunk M3 x 10 screws. The container itself features numerous slotted holes, allowing me to visually inspect the color of the beads at all times. The slots are precisely 1.5mm wide, ensuring that the beads cannot escape through them. Measuring 100mm in length, 75mm in width, and 14mm in height, this container provides a compact yet functional storage solution for my silica beads.
