Silica basket
thingiverse
From time to time you discover Silica pockets in products, these bags shouldn't be discarded and are still valuable. It's not good for the environment and you'd be surprised by its worth on the open market. Introducing 'the silica basket'. Collect bags until the basket is full and close using either toothpicks with glue or screws (diameter 2.5 mm, length 2 cm). Print using any material with no brim, skirt, foundation required at regular infill and extruder size. Minimal support required (weight approximately 75 grams). Uses include: - Place in a container to protect tools, paper, or clothing against moisture in damp spaces like bathrooms, garages, attics, or basements. - Place in front of car windows to prevent window condensation from the inside. - As a giant three-bag system to eliminate household humidity #TheNorthRemembers. - As an emergency reserve in case of water-damaged electronics (like your phone). Simply place the item in a plastic bag, open the basket and tear the paper bags (beware of possible powder inside). Pour the silica pellets into the plastic bag and hermetically seal as best as possible with tape and let it rest for a few days until you turn the device on. Safety guidelines: I am not a doctor and do not take any responsibility for anything that might occur, but I've done extensive research on the matter. The only reported incident was a choking hazard when trying to eat a bag. So... Don't eat the bags, if you have small children: keep them closed inside the basket using screws and don't let them play with it as a rattle. Don't open the bags unless specified by me to do so. Silica gel pellets are harmless but Silica powder isn't. Don't grind into powder and snort it or dilute in water and drink it (unless you really hate your wife /jk). Don't expose to an open flame as smoke is cancerous. To reactivate: The pellets can absorb around 20 to 40% of their weight until losing its function. Dry them in the hot sun. For the more curious: open up bags and place pellets in a pan on the stove for about 10 minutes or in an oven for 2 hours at 200 degrees Celsius, then make new bags using coffee filter paper. But honestly, under normal conditions it would last like... I don't know, forever?
