Always exercise caution and use necessary safety equipment.*** ***Update October 24, 2017: Version for one inch PVC pipe*** ***Update March 26, 2018: Added extension baffles, twenty millimeters and forty millimeters in length*** This is a modular silencer or lead dust collector designed specifically for a four point five to five point five millimeter .177 to .22 caliber PCP air rifle. It could potentially be used with a six point three five millimeter .25 caliber, but I have not tested it at this caliber. Currently, the silencer is threaded for one half UNF by twenty as this size is widely used. If needed, I can easily create and upload other thread sizes. Simply post in comments. All components are thirty-six millimeters inner diameter / forty millimeter outer diameter. Baffles are twenty millimeters in length, while the threaded barrel cap takes fifteen millimeters and the end cap requires ten millimeters of space in length. To assemble the silencer, use a thirty-six millimeter inner diameter / forty millimeter outer diameter pipe for the body. In the provided photos, I have printed ten baffles made from PETG. The required length for the body is calculated as follows: ten times twenty millimeters plus fifteen millimeters plus ten millimeters equals two hundred and twenty-five millimeters. For the exterior casing, I recommend using PVC pipe due to its low cost, lightweight design, and easy availability in hardware stores. To secure the threaded barrel cap, use epoxy or a strong adhesive. For the end cap, apply two to three screw threads to create a hole and then thread them. This will allow you to remove one of the caps for servicing if needed. In my initial version, I used PLA material and painted it black. After shooting over five hundred rounds, it still functions well and remains intact. My rifle is regulated and modified with twenty-five foot-pounds of energy (fifteen point eight nine grains going eight fifty feet per second). I recommend using ABS or PETG materials for added strength. The pieces in the photos are printed in transparent PETG. Is this silencer effective? In my opinion, it is the best silencer I have ever used on my rifle, and I utilized eight baffles.
